Mold Basics
FACTS
-
There is less chance of mold growth in older homes because they were built loose; if they got wet, they dried out.
-
New homes are built too tight. Moisture accumulates from initial construction, more is added by its inhabitants. When it cannot escape, mold growth begins.
TRUTHS
No Moisture = No Mold! If it gets wet, it must be dried within 24-48 hrs. It’s that simple!
Inspecting for mold and moisture damage problems can be quite elusive and complex. This is why it starts with a survey. We cannot give you a quotation for our services without doing a comprehensive phone appraisal of your past and current situation. This is done at no charge. There are 3 primary damage factors in any structure, they are Moisture, Heat and UV light. 80% of all structure damage is due to moisture. We investigate the prevalence and mode by which the moisture and subsequent mold are causing damage.
"When it comes to mold inspections, you need people with experience"
In today’s arena of building sciences, companies that are doing building envelope inspections, especially in the field of mold inspection and leakage assessments, need the best up-to-date technologies available. It is true that the best personal indicator of a mold problem is one’s nose. But where is the problem and how do we at Environmental Inspection Dynamics differ?….
Most importantly, no tools or technology can replace experience and a prior working knowledge in the vast field of building sciences and related inspections. Along with this experience are required training and education. This applies to the use of all technologically advanced inspection tools as well. At Environmental Inspection Dynamics we are certified to conduct IAQ & Mold Inspections and Assessments, Mold Sampling-Testing and Surveying, Allergy Inspections, New Construction Inspections and Commercial Building Inspections. We are lead instructors for The ASHI School, and teach the mold courses authored by us. We are Level I certified infrared thermographers. We continue to develop new educational videos for virtual learning and public viewing.
Here are some of the mold inspection tools we use:
